What Mike Bell stands for

Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding area is a great place to live. I want to help make it even better.

I was born in Weston and have lived and worked here all my life. I'm proud to call myself a Westonian and genuinely care about making my home town the best it can be.

We've not had a fair deal from Conservative or Labour Governments and we've been saddled with some pretty poor councils over the years.

We need to get our economy on track, so that local people can find local jobs and our young people can get on the property ladder securely. We need tough action against crime, yobs and drugs. Not words, but action to make those who create problems in our community pay for their crimes.

Our local NHS services must be strengthened and protected, trusting our doctors, nurses, dentists and other health professionals to get on with their job without interference from politicians.

Our environment must be at the top of our list of concerns. We only have one planet and we must protect and improve it for future generations.

We must deliver a better deal for our pensioners and those on the lowest incomes, so that they get a fair share for the taxes they have paid and all that they have put in to our community.

Weston faces many challenges. Working together with local people, I want to offer some of the answers to these challenges and make a real difference.
