Thank You Graphic

Many thanks to everyone who supported the Liberal Democrat team in yesterday's elections.

The official count for the European elections does not take place until Sunday 7th June, but the count was held last night in the Hutton and Locking ward, where a North Somerset Council by-election was taking place.

The Conservatives retained the seat with 1,411 votes, Liberal Democrat candidate Jenny Bindon came second with 511 votes and Labour finished third with 253 votes.

The swing in votes compared with the previous election in 2007 was 3.5% from Conservative to Liberal Democrats.

If this swing was repeated in a General Election, the Liberal Democrats would recapture the Parliamentary seat of Weston-super-Mare.
