North Somerset young urged to have their say4.44.59pm GMT Wed 5th Jan 2005 Young people in North Somerset are being urged to get involved in the political process by a North Somerset Councillor. Mike Bell, who is the Liberal Democrat Prospective MP for the Woodspring Constituency, says that younger people have a vital role to play in determining the future of our community. He has urged young people to attend a 'Westminster Day' event in London next month to find out more. Westminster Day, which is organised by the Liberal Democrat Youth & Students, takes place on Tuesday 8th February 2005. The event will be hosted by Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow and has top MPs from all main parties lined up as speakers and to take questions. Mike Bell says: "Westminster Day is a unique opportunity for young people from North Somerset to engage with senior political figures and make their voice heard. "It is a good opportunity to question those who make key decisions and is a vital way of sparking an interest in the political process." The event will be held at the Royal Festival Hall, South Bank, London and tickets cost £12. More information can be obtained by logging on to www.westminsterday.org.uk or by phoning 020 7227 1387.
