Police on the Beat

Mike Bell is going on the beat with local police officers

The Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Woodspring Constituency, Mike Bell, will be going on the beat with local police officers in Nailsea next week to learn at first hand the challenges faced by local 'bobbies'.

Mike will join North Somerset sector chief Inspector Patrick McGowan at Nailsea Police Station on Monday (2nd February) to discuss policing issues in North Somerset and will take to the streets to experience the day-to-day work of local police.

Mike Bell commented: "One of the issues raised most often with me by local people is crime and the fear of crime.

"The police do a fantastic job with very limited resources and personnel and I want to know exactly what the problems are that they face in doing their everyday jobs. So I am delighted to have the opportunity to go out on the beat to find out more."
